For the 3rd edition of INFART Festival, I’ve been to the beautyful city of Bassano del Grappa in order to create a mural.

L’ART COMME MIROIR DE L’AME. 6×15m. Bassano del Grapa. ITALY. 2011
After a wide period of being able to spread colors to the people, i felt like going back to a more black and white style, with just 2 colors fighting each other. Considering the format of the wall, i made a few sketches to find the right composition. And a kneeling man, holding his head in his hands, came to life on the mural.

In Sao Paulo’s Museum of Art, beside the mural I painted, I have chosen to present a sculpture.
A winged being made of wooden shapes “pluged” one in the others, inspired from a mural i had painted in Africa.

This summer, in July, I’ve been invited to take part in the exhibition in the MASP (Museum of Art of Sao Paulo), in Brasil.
The show was curated bt Baixo and Eduardo from Choque cultural gallery, together with Danilo from BaseV.
I stayed one month in residency, working in the museum beside SPACE INVADER, JR, SWOON, POINT, DEFI,TEC & CHU.

CICLO. Acrylic on wood. 8×23m. 2011. Sao Paulo. BRASIL.

The latest wall i did in Gambia, which is my favorite appeared to be a bird. A kind of phoenix that just flyed out of my fingers naturaly. I also started by talking and eating with the people, and then just took a time to sit down and stare at the empty wall, in order to see what could live in it.

I really enjoyed the aspect of the wall, and the contrast that pure colors straight on the wall will create over the texture.

One of my favorite village was Macumbaya. A village that claim his standing for peace and unity for the whole nation. I read this words written by the brother’s chief on a wall you can see in the village main square.
I’ve been asked by the chief to paint a special wall. The one that any visitor will see while meeting the chief of the village. The guest house.

SHAKE HANDS. Macumbaya. 2011
The vibe so easy to get, that it tooks me just a few minutes to draw on the sand and find the perfect visual to express what i lived their. Which is a feeling of Unity and peace beyond races, culture or social standings.
