ELOVUTION. Interpretation of the cicle of Love. by REMED & OKUDA

ELOVUTION. Disolution.

ELOVUTION. Step 3. DISOLUTION. Acrylic on canvas. 130x180cm. By Remed & Okuda. 2012

It’s been more or less one year that I’ve been working with my friend Okuda on various pieces.

We met some times ago, and while discovering eachother’s Art, we both thought that it could be interesting to mix our vision. A common point is that we dig to use geometry. But while the figurative side of my Art is becoming more and more abstract, his remains realist, or surealist. That’s why we knew a harmonious blend was possible.

So we decided to make a serie. At first we didn’t knew how many pieces there would be. We just wanted to express ourselves.  Talk about Life, about Love, being witness, actors and survivors of It.

FOR A BETTER FUTUR. Sarayevo. Bibliotheka Vijecnica. 2012

Latest month, my brother 3ttman an I had the honor to be invited by The Spanish Ambassy of Sarayevo. We created a huge canvas and offered it to the futur city hall, to celebrate the reconstruction of the national bibliotheka of Vijecnica.

Aware about the story of Sarayevo’s people, we both decided to spread a message of Hope. A message of Peace and Unity.

A message of Love.

FOR A BETTER FUTUR. Sarayevo. 2012

FOR A BETTER FUTUR. Acrylic on canva. 200x370cm. Vijcnica, SARAYEVO. 2012. By Remed & 3ttman.

Our experience there was for both of us amazing. We were living in front of  the river, beside a small metal bridge, down the valley surrounded by seven mountains. Each day, we had to pass through the turkish neighborhood until we reach the Vijecnica Bibliotheka.

Sadly, this marvelous building built in a maurish architecture in 1894 has been burned and distroyed  in August 1992 during the Siege of Sarayevo. Hopefully, some of the knowledge in these books has been saved and the building is now in the third phase of repair of the structure. We spent 10 days there, working on our gift to Sarayevo.

OPUS MAGNUS. engraved metal (old car).

Once again, the wonderous coincidence that doesn’t exist brought me to discover and live something special.

OPUS MAGNUS

OPUS MAGNUS (Detail of an engraved old car found in scrap dealer) 2012.

In order to build an exhibition for JUSTMAD, the main fair of Emergent Contemporary Art in Madrid, my friends from Negocios raros, offered me the opportunity to make something different. To work another material. The idea was to find some surface that is not associated to Art, but rather scribbling, or even vandalizing.

CALLING THE MOST HIGH

This title  comes from  a song I  love, by DEZARIE.

CALLING THE MOST HIGH

CALLING THE MOST HIGH. Detail

It took me around 12 days to make this entire drawing.

At first I worked in a horizontal way, and even if during the process I was already doubting of this choice,  it is only once the drawing was finished, that I choosed to make the character stand vertical… while listening to that song I love.

THESE FEW WORDS. Wall painting @ Carhartt Gallery. Weil am Rhein. GERMANY

I just came back from Weil am Rhein in Germany, where I’ve been invited among RIPO, SOZYONE, C215, MOSE, TAPS & more.

I presented my latest works, and had to paint a 6x4m mural on which a 2x2m wooden square was hanged in the center.

CES QUELQUES MOTS...

THESE FEW WORDS. Acrylic and spraypaint on wood. 200x200xcm. 2011

Just before I came, I started to make some spontaneous free writings on paper. I always loved writing, playing with the meaning and shapes of words and letters, but I spent most of these last years working on the abstraction of realism. During the process of this mural, I enjoyed the organic freedom of playings with words’ curves and rimes.

A bit of an utopy I’ve always tried to protect against the teeth of cynism. I wanted to believe it is still possible to be naiv. And allow one to be hopefull.
